  • Do NAD+ supplements really work?

I used oral NR during a brutal prep block when energy was low. Did it help with daytime focus? A bit. But nothing replaced hitting my daily collagen, protein, and recovery check-ins.

  • Can glutathione reduce belly fat?

I see this expectation all the time with prep clients looking to speed up stubborn abdominal fat loss. Excess visceral fat creates severe systemic oxidative stress, which drains your natural glutathione levels. Restoring those levels helps your body process energy better, but if your diet isn't locked in, you won't see any difference on the scale.

  • Is BPC-157 a growth hormone?

I keep having bikini and figure clients ask me if BPC-157 is going to mess with their endocrine system or cause systemic growth like HGH. Someone in their gym circle told them it is basically a mini growth hormone for injuries. I always tell them to lock in their sleep, protein, and light loading first, but I want to make sure I am giving them the exact science on the mechanism. Does BPC-157 act on the pituitary gland or spike systemic GH levels at all?

  • What are the side effects of MOTS-c?

Telling my client to skip pinning MOTS-c for now and focus on locking in her protein, steps, and progressive overload.

  • Which is better, BPC or TB500?

Spot on, Dave. It has zero anabolic benefit. It won't build muscle, and promoting unmonitored angiogenesis carries risks if someone has underlying cell growths.

  • What are the side effects of MOTS-c?

One of my physique clients asked me about MOTS-c yesterday after reading that it mimics exercise at a cellular level. I know it gets hyped for metabolic flexibility, but I am always cautious when people want to inject things to bypass hard work. For those who have actually looked into the literature or tried it, what are the documented side effects? Are we looking at blood sugar swings, injection reactions, or something worse?

  • Is MOTS-c legal to buy?

People want the exercise mimic in a vial because doing hard work in the gym is uncomfortable. Even if someone finds a legal gray area to buy it, an injection will never replace basic discipline and metabolic work.

  • Training around an injury without losing your mind or your physique

Exactly, Ray. Without physical load signaling, peptides are just high-priced liquid in an unconditioned body. And Carl is spot on: keep your calendar discipline during rehab. No excuses.

  • Training around an injury without losing your mind or your physique

I get this question at least twice a month from prep clients and athletes who contact my gym in a full panic. The moment a knee, shoulder, or elbow tendon starts screaming, the immediate reaction is to lock themselves in a dark room, cut calories to ground zero, and wait for the muscle to melt off. Or, on the flip side, they buy every experimental compound on the internet thinking it lets them keep ego lifting through a tear. Neither works. Here is how you actually handle it. First, an injured tendon or joint is not a permission slip to stop training the rest of your body. Cross-education is real. If your right shoulder is off limits, your left arm, your legs, your core, and your cardiovascular system are still open for business. Isometrics at painless joint angles keep muscle mass intact without putting shear force through inflamed tissue. Second, nutrition is where people destroy their recovery. They drop protein because they are scared of gaining fat while volume is lower. That is backwards. Your tissue requires amino acids, adequate total energy, and deep sleep to lay down collagen matrices. Peptides like BPC-157 or GHK-Cu get talked about constantly in this space, but if your protein intake is garbage, your sleep is six hours of trash, and you are not progressively loading the tendon, no adjunct is going to fix that. How do you keep your mind right and your frame full when a joint goes down?

  • Why your rehab stalled before you even bought a peptide

People spend hours researching chemicals while sleeping five hours and eating 60 grams of protein. Your body cannot rebuild collagen without basic aminos and sleep. My clients track three daily metrics: sleep, protein, and their loading routine. If those are not checked off for four straight weeks, we do not even talk about supplements.

  • Rest versus loading in acute tendon irritation: where does movement actually fit in?

Sam, mild discomfort that settles within 24 hours is your green light. When I worked through a stubborn insertional issue, I had to drop my ego completely. No fancy gear needed, just bodyweight isometrics and slow eccentrics. People want to drink protein powder and wait for miracles instead of putting in the unsexy daily work. Are you checking in with your daily holds?
