The TB-500 tendon data is thinner than the marketing suggests
TB-500 gets marketed as a tendon peptide. I want to be precise about what actually underlies that.
Thymosin Beta-4 is a real, well characterized actin binding protein involved in cell motility and wound healing. That part is not controversial. It upregulates VEGF, supports angiogenesis, and has anti inflammatory signaling. In tissue injury models it speeds recruitment of repair cells.
Here is the part that gets skipped: the strongest in vivo musculoskeletal study with actual biomechanical outcomes is a ligament healing model, specifically MCL, not a tendon model. Tendon specific evidence is mostly in vitro tenogenic scaffold work.
So when a vendor page says "studied for tendon repair," the honest translation is: studied for tissue repair broadly, with the load bearing musculoskeletal data coming from ligament, and tendon inferred from mechanism.
That inference might be right. It is still an inference, and it is a weaker position than BPC-157 occupies, which is saying something given how thin that one is.
Preclinical is not a promise.
