What blood work are you guys actually running alongside peptides?

I'm setting up my first recovery stack through a telehealth provider for my forearm tendinitis, and they sent over a massive list of recommended lab panels. They're suggesting a full hormone panel, metabolic panel, thyroid, lipids, and IGF-1 before starting BPC-157 and sermorelin. For those of you who pin regularly or run secretagogues, what labs are you actually getting drawn baseline and during a cycle? Is a full $400 panel normal or overkill?

Currently typing with correct posture. Probably.

Don't overthink basic healing peptides like BPC or TB, but secretagogues are a different mission. Baseline CMP, lipid panel, and IGF-1 are non-negotiable if you're touching sermorelin. If you don't have a baseline IGF-1, you're running dark and won't know if your dose is hitting the target. For straight BPC? Standard annual wellness labs are plenty.

Discipline is the shortcut.

Relying strictly on standard metabolic panels misses key systematic markers. If the objective is tracking tissue recovery, running hs-CRP and ESR gives a quantifiable baseline for systemic inflammation. Pairing those with serum IGF-1 provides actual comparative data rather than relying purely on subjective pain scales.

Science is only useful if people can use it.

You're overthinking it. If you pin BPC and TB for a torn tendon, basic CBC and liver enzymes are enough. Half the people here spend more money on blood tubes than on the actual peptides.

There is a distinction in clinical utility depending on the compound mechanism. Growth hormone secretagogues like sermorelin impact glucose metabolism and the HGH axis, making baseline HbA1c, fasting glucose, and IGF-1 meaningful for monitoring insulin sensitivity changes. For local tissue response with BPC-157 or TB-500, blood work primarily establishes hepatic and renal safety baselines rather than measuring peptide efficacy directly.

baseline labs are great for peace of mind, but do NOT sleep on the foundational stuff! Telehealth clinics love adding extra tests, but if your SLEEP and protein intake are garbage, no lab panel will fix the rehab timeline. Get your basic CMP, check your fasting glucose, and nail your daily habits!

Flourish, then fit.

That helps clear things up a lot. The doc had thyroid and a bunch of random autoimmune antibodies on the bill which had me sweating. Sounds like basic CMP plus IGF-1 for the sermorelin is the reasonable middle ground.

That $400 markup is standard clinic bloat. Get the script or order directly through third-party lab portals for eighty bucks. Phase 1: CMP and IGF-1. Phase 2: recheck at 8 weeks. Keep it simple.

Discipline is the shortcut.

I ran into the same thing when rehabbing my shoulder post-pregnancy. The clinic handed me a massive panel list that felt overwhelming. Sticking to a basic CMP, lipids, and HbA1c gave me full baseline confidence without breaking the bank.

Been through rehab myself. It works if you work it.

If the protocol is too complicated or expensive to verify, client adherence drops to zero by week three. Keep the testing frictionless. CMP and IGF-1 if you're running GH secretagogues. BPC alone doesn't warrant a 30-page report.

Decide. Commit. Succeed.

High baseline hs-CRP correlated directly with slower tissue remodeling in several recovery logs I analyzed last year. Dismissing inflammatory markers as bloat leaves valuable recovery data on the table.

Elevated CRP just means you trained hard or slept poorly the night before the draw. Don't chase ghosts in lab sheets while the joint is actively healing.
