Does BPC-157 need to be refrigerated

Newbie question. I just got my first vial of BPC-157 and mixed it with bacteriostatic water last night. Does this actually need to live in the fridge or is that overkill? I travel for work every few weeks and I'm nervous about it sitting in a hotel room all day while I'm out.

Currently typing with correct posture. Probably.

Once it's reconstituted, yes, it needs to be refrigerated. You're looking at roughly four to six weeks of stability in the fridge before it starts degrading. Before you mix it, the lyophilized powder is much more forgiving and can handle a short stretch at room temp during shipping without falling apart, but long term it should still be refrigerated too.

If the vial looks cloudy, the answer is no.

I track this because of course I do. My reconstituted vials start showing a noticeable drop off in how much relief I get right around week 5 if I keep them cold the whole time. Never tested what happens if you don't refrigerate because I'm too paranoid, but the timeline lines up with what pharmacists keep saying.

Measure it or it did not happen.

Left a mixed vial out on the counter overnight by accident once. Used it the next day, seemed fine. Not saying do that, just saying it's not made of glass, it's not going to instantly die if you forget it for a few hours.

What about the freezer, is that better than the fridge for making it last longer?

Still here. Still slow.

No, don't freeze reconstituted solution. Freezing and thawing can mess with the peptide structure just as much as heat does. Fridge only once it's mixed.

If the vial looks cloudy, the answer is no.

I race a lot so I deal with this constantly. I use one of those little insulated pouches with a gel pack when I'm traveling and just make sure it goes straight back in a fridge or minifridge at the hotel when I get there. Never had an issue in three years of doing it that way.

Slow is smooth. Smooth is 5k pace eventually.

Following this because I'm the same with cycling trips, vial sits in a jersey pocket getting warm on long rides. Probably should not be doing that.

Watts do not lie. Neither do lactate strips.

Quick note, if you got yours through a compounding pharmacy specifically, always follow whatever storage sheet came with it since formulations can differ slightly. Don't assume it matches what someone else is doing with a different source.

Read the pinned rules. They are short.

That's the actual advice worth following. Hot car and direct sunlight are the two ways people actually wreck these, not a few hours on a countertop.

Updating my earlier point since I went back and checked my notes. My worst results ever were from a vial I'm pretty sure got left near a sunny window for like a week straight while I was out of town. That batch felt basically inert by the time I got back to it.

Measure it or it did not happen.

This actually helps a lot, thank you. Sounds like the powder is chill until I mix it, then it's fridge only and I need to actually plan around travel instead of winging it.

Same, saving this thread. I definitely have not been thinking about the sunlight part at all.
