Which is better, BPC or TB500?

Morning everyone! I have a virtual client in her late 40s who tore up her shoulder doing heavy kettlebell presses, and her trainer friend recommended she get on BPC-157 or TB-500. She keeps asking me which one is 'better' for getting her back on the suspension trainer. From what I read, they do totally different things in the body, so is it even a fair comparison? What are you all seeing in practice?

It is definitely not an either-or question because their mechanisms are totally different. BPC-157 works locally to build collagen scaffolding on structural connective tissue like tendons and ligaments, while TB-500 works systemically through actin upregulation for cell migration in muscle tissue. Neither replaces progressive loading, protein, and proper recovery time, though.

Load is the drug with the best data.

Wait, so if BPC is local and TB-500 is systemic, does that mean TB-500 acts faster across the body?

Currently typing with correct posture. Probably.

Actually, TB-500 tends to be slower-acting. You might feel a slight drop in baseline inflammation in the first week, but cellular migration and angiogenesis peak around weeks two to four, with tissue remodeling happening in weeks four through eight. Also keep in mind that neither BPC nor TB-500 has completed human clinical trials, so evidence remains mostly experimental.

Evidence first, ego last.

Before spending money on peptides, what does her sleep, protein intake, and rehab adherence look like? No injection fixes lousy recovery habits.

Better body, better habits.

As an ICU nurse, I second the sleep comment. Also, run length matters. There are zero chronic human safety trials, so people capping research cycles at 4 to 8 weeks are being smart.

Recovery happens at 3am, if it happens.

From a physical therapy perspective, it depends entirely on the tissue involved. Muscle strains respond differently than full tendon tears, and without a proper movement screen, jumping into peptides is putting the cart before the horse. Also, anyone thinking TB-500 builds muscle for bodybuilding is mistaken; it has zero anabolic effects and is banned by WADA.

Always be great.

Spot on, Dave. It has zero anabolic benefit. It won't build muscle, and promoting unmonitored angiogenesis carries risks if someone has underlying cell growths.

Own your outcome.

Solid info. I am putting her on TRX regressions and fixing her sleep habits before we even talk about pinning a BPC cycle for that shoulder.

Managing her anxiety around the slow recovery pace will do far more for her adherence than any compound.

Mind and body, same system.
