Pain moved from my Achilles to my calf, is this compensation or something else?

Been running 250mcg BPC-157 sub-q twice a day right near my mid-substance Achilles for three weeks alongside heavy eccentric calf raises. The tendon pain went from a constant 5/10 down to basically zero when walking. But two days ago I got this tight, crampy pain higher up in the lower calf muscle belly whenever I do demo drills with my team or try to push off. Did the calf take on extra load once the tendon stopped guarding, or am I just overloading the gastroc junction?

You didn't fix the chain, you just shifted the stress. When BPC knocks down local tendon pain, people immediately crank speed or load before the calf complex can handle it.

Classic compensation. Soleus takes a beating when you start heavy eccentric work. Drop the weight back 20% and keep pinning.

Logged this exact shift on week 3 of BPC/TB-500 last year: 1. Day 18: Achilles pain down 80%. 2. Day 19: Left gastroc tight, 4/10 pain. 3. Seated soleus raises fixed it in a week. Did not stop the cycle.

Measure it or it did not happen.

Hold up. Is it a dull ache or a sharp tear? Watch for swelling or deep throbbing. If it feels like a rigid knot that won't release, don't push through a potential DVT or muscle strain thinking it's just rehab fatigue.

Slow and steady heals.

That's overthinking it. It's just trigger points from the calf finally firing properly after weeks of guarding. Get on a hard foam roller and keep the load going.

Three decades in the gym and still learning.

Foam rolling an acute strain is how you turn a minor pull into a three-month setback. Do not roll directly on acute gastroc pain.

Consistency over panic! Switch to isometric calf holds for a few days to keep tissue loaded without aggravating the muscle. Keep your routine tight and finish the run.

Motivation is the missing rep.

When Achilles stiffness drops rapidly from BPC, ankle dorsiflexion range increases suddenly during gait. If the gastroc-soleus complex hasn't adapted to that full terminal stance stretch, the strain shifts right to the musculotendinous junction. Check your heel drop and make sure you aren't over-striding when walking.

Save limbs. Save lives.

Checked it this morning, definitely tightness right at the gastroc transition, no deep throb. Switched to holds and pinned TB-500 upper calf last night. Feels way looser today.
